Technically, marsupials ARE mammals that give birth to immature young. Normally they are considered as a separate from mammals, but they give live birth, breathe air, have hair, and suckle their young, so they do fit into the mammal category.

They also have armored butts! Their backside is very tough, so animals can’t chase them into their holes and hurt them from behind!
